Position Title: Production Engineer Intern

Company Overview:

ABSS is an industry leader in building abrasive blasting blastrooms, offering solutions that are fully encapsulated, recyclable, and equipped with advanced dust collection systems. We have recently implemented MYOB Advanced as our ERP system and are currently in the process of refining our production manufacturing processes.

 

Position Overview:

The Production Engineer Intern will play a key role in enhancing the utilisation of our ERP system (MYOB Advanced) to improve our overall production management. This role is ideal for an aspiring engineer interested in the intersection of production and technology, as it will involve analysing and optimising workflows, scheduling, and work centre utilisation to help meet client deadlines efficiently.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. ERP Utilisation:

   – Assist in the optimisation of MYOB Advanced ERP production management functionalities.

   – Collaborate with the production team to refine the use of Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure smooth integration with manufacturing processes.

   – Support the continuous improvement of ERP tools to track and improve production efficiency.

 

2. Workflow and Scheduling:

   – Analyse current production workflows and work centre utilisation.

   – Recommend and implement improvements for workflow scheduling to enhance productivity and meet client deadlines.

   – Assist in building dynamic schedules that minimise waste and maximise resource efficiency.

 

3. Reporting & Efficiency Tracking:

   – Generate reports using MYOB Advanced to track production progress, efficiency, and utilisation of resources.

   – Support data analysis and reporting on key metrics such as cycle time, resource allocation, and production throughput.

 

4. Process Improvement:

   – Assist in identifying bottlenecks within the production process and propose solutions to streamline operations.

   – Contribute to the development of continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, improve output, and meet customer demands more effectively.

 

5. Team Collaboration:

   – Work closely with engineers, planners, and the ERP implementation team to align ERP functionality with operational needs.

   – Provide support and training to the production team on ERP system enhancements.

 

Qualifications:

 

– Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

– Familiarity with ERP systems (experience with MYOB Advanced is a plus).

– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

– Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

– Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and data analysis tools.
