Live Fire Range and Ballistics Engineer

Live Fire Range and Ballistic Engineers are experts in this specialist field.  You will be involved in: design work (small arms, ammunition, targets systems and Range Design), developing innovation proposals, developing test instructions and test reports, test conduct and prepare technical advice regarding Complex Technology Live Fire Ranges (CTechR).  Further, you will be involved in Test and Evaluation (T&E) of complex structure and material terminal effects resulting from small arms fire.

Duties of the Live Fire Range and Ballistics Engineer, include: Live Fire T&E, Live Fire Range Design; Small Arms and Ammunition Research and Development (R&D); Engineering Certification of Live Fire Range Facilities IAW Defence / International Standards; Delivering Risk Assessments and Safety Cases IAW Defence / International Standards;  As a member of a team, contribute to the development of policy and technical papers regarding CTechR; and, work collaboratively with stakeholders and subject matter experts to achieve desired outcomes.
